I am so lucky to work with the most creative, fabulous and fun couples. Here is just a flavour of the weddings I have had the privilege of working on as well as the kind words that the couples have had to say about me!

HELEN + JAMES 6.5.18

I met this pair around 6 months before their day when they enquired about my ‘Intervention’ package. You couldn’t wish to meet two lovelier people and their plans for the wedding sounded spectacular, of course I was delighted to be on board! Our first job was finding a florist and Wild Renata Flowers fitted the bill perfectly. She created some fabulous hanging floral chandeliers made from bike wheels -both H&J are cycling fans! The vision was black lace, taxidermy crows and lots of dark blooms, so dreamy!

After a ceremony in the glass house at the Horniman Museum , the reception took place at One Friendly Place, a super cool warehouse venue in Deptford. It’s a brilliant space without too much decor but we did add some festoon lighting and a pea light curtain as well as some amazing skull candles. Topped off with a beautiful cake by Malarkey Cakes, this wedding was an absolute stunner! Lisa Jane captured all of the details beautifully and a vegetarian feast came courtesy of Handmade Food.

When my husband and I fell in love with a dry hire venue, we knew we’d need a helping hand to pull off our dream day. We’re a pretty alternative couple, so it was important for us to find someone to work with that got our vision and took it seriously; our colour scheme was ‘black lace’ and we jokingly referred to our mood-board aesthetic as ‘Edgar Allen Poe’s bicycle repair shop’.

From the get go, we knew we’d met the perfect planner in Rachel, who never flinched, no matter how eccentric the request! From finding a florist to make chandeliers using our old bike wheels, to sourcing taxidermy crows and tracking down skull candle makers, Rachel took care of everything with a calm and reassuring manner. Magically, we stopped feeling stressed and actually started to enjoy the wedding planning!

On the day, Rachel dressed the venue for us and it took our breath away - it was everything we had imagined and more, and was absolutely stunning. She coordinated our suppliers to ensure the day ran smoothly, liaising with the caterers, furniture suppliers and band so we and our guests could relax and enjoy the day. I honestly couldn’t recommend the Capston Second highly enough!

BECKY + NIC 16.12.17

Becky and Nic are an incredibly imaginative and organised pair who had everything under control planning wise, but as they wouldn’t be there for the set up, they knew they wanted someone to realise their vision on the day. Close to Christmas, this was a really festive affair, one of the highlights for me was the fabulous Old Dirty Brasstards belting out East 17’s “Stay”. There were lots of seasonal touches without going overboard with a Christmas theme. Becky and Nic made their own crackers and we had great fun hanging snowflakes from the ceiling, not to mention the snowglobe photo booth.

There were lots of brilliant suppliers involved and this couple made sure everything was locally sourced where possible. Becky and Nic love good food and drink, something I can really get on board with! There was so much love and fun during the day and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of proceedings. Shout out to Jimmy’s Catering for keeping everyone well fed and the Wedding Flower Company for the beautiful florals. The amazing images were captured by The Twins and Megan Elle produced a beautiful video.

Organising a wedding in a dry hire venue meant that there was no way that we could manage our own wedding on the actual wedding day. We needed someone who would be able to execute our vision and run our day just as we had envisaged.

We found Rachel, who already knew our wedding venue, and was fantastic. It is probably not enough of a compliment to call her a safe pair of hands because she is so much more!

We had a very specific, and at times complicated, vision of how we wanted the venue to look. Anyone else might have said it wouldn’t be possible, but not Rachel, who took it all in her stride and assured us that she would be able to make it happen. And make it happen did she! When we both saw the venue we were blown away.

Rachel was wonderfully calming, conscientious, readily available and accommodating addition to making our wedding as brilliant as it was. We highly recommend her to anyone who wants their vision to be realised and to manage the set up and running of the wedding on the day. It all went without a hitch. Thank you Rachel.

EMILY + DOMINIC 10.11.18

I worked with Emily and Dom to provide one of favourite services - the one off planning consultation. They were well into the planning of their big day but just needed a little help to find a photographer and consolidate some of their styling ideas. It was an absolute pleasure to help them on their way and didn’t they do an absolutely beautiful job?! You can find out more about one off planning sessions here.

With wedding planning fully underway and most of the ‘big’ items ticked off our to-do list we needed help with consolidating some of our styling ideas as well as finding a photographer. Rachel was the perfect person to help us. After listening to all of our ideas, she helped us to narrow down those that were good and achievable (and showed us how to make them happen!) and those that were probably best left in our notebook. Rachel also helped to reassure us that we hadn't missed anything off our 'still to-do list'.

Most importantly for us, Rachel found us the perfect photographer. After discussing all the different types and styles of photography there are (who knew there were so many?!) we realised that we had no idea what we wanted! A day or so after our consultation a magical spreadsheet arrived in our inbox with a whole host of photographers that were available on our dates and in our price range, links to their websites and detailed descriptions of their work and style. We picked out Nikki van der Molen who turned out to be our dream photographer.

Rachel’s extensive knowledge of the industry along with her composed, personable and enthusiastic nature is everything we could have asked for and, after meeting with her, everything else just seemed to fall into place…

Alexey and Sabrina’s day was an absolute joy to be a part of. They held their ceremony at one of my favourites, Hackney Town Hall and followed this with a double decker bus trip to The Empress for an intimate pub meal with lots more guests joining them at the Royal Inn on the Park for a party in the evening. I helped them with some decor ideas for the evening party and of course was on hand during the day to set up each venue and oversee proceedings!

With guests joining them from Sabrina’s home country of Brazil and Alexey’s family from Russia, there were some really lovely touches from their respective cultures. Thank you both for including me in your wonderfully relaxed day.

Just wanted to thank you again for your help on our wedding day. The day couldn’t have gone better, the venue looked great, and everything went really smoothly. We had a great day, and enjoyed every moment of it.

Thank you,
Alexey & Sabrina

EMMA + SAM 8.10.17

Emma and Sam tied the knot at the really rather beautiful Employment Academy in Peckham. Following a drinks reception in the courtyard there, the guests all headed to a nearby hall at All Saints Community Centre. A Tooting curry house provided the delicious vegan food and the couple along with family and friends did lots of the set up on the day. It was really important to Emma and Sam to keep the environmental impact of their wedding to a minimum and I loved their elegant vision. It was just down to me to step in on the day and ensure that everything ran smoothly!

The speeches were a particular highlight for me, especially Emma’s pal’s speech containing embarrassing anecdotes from their teenage years - that’s what happens when you keep your childhood friends around you!

Knowing that Rachel was around to trouble-shoot and organise our wedding on the day helped us and our family relax and enjoy it. She did so much to make sure everything went smoothly, from liaising with deliveries and staff to helping set up the hall and so on. She was hands-on and met with us several times beforehand to allay any worries we had. We had a few problems on the day and we don’t know how we would have dealt with them without Rachel! She’s very friendly, reassuring, and works well in stressful situations. We’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for help on their wedding day.

BEN + JESSIE 9.9.17

Ben and Jessie were lucky enough to have an amazing space at Ben’s dad’s for their wedding. The pair planned everything themselves and just wanted someone to take the reins on the day so that their families could sit back and enjoy. After a beautiful ceremony at the church literally at the end of the garden and drinks on the lawn outside the house, dinner was served in a clear marquee in the courtyard before the dance floor opened in the barn! Jessie’s vision was a neutral colour palette with blooms in bud vases and potted herbs. It was simple and gorgeous. The delicious food came courtesy of one of my faves, Caper & Berry who you can always rely on for fantastic service.

There was some rain later on in the day which led to the magical mist in the amazing couple portraits captured by Hollie Carlin - beautiful. Jessie and Ben, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your elegant, stylish and love filled day.

'We wanted a wedding events manager to oversee our suppliers on the day and assist with any unexpected events that may have arose. Rachel was a great help. She worked brilliantly with all our suppliers and managed to keep the day flowing. Thank you Rachel!'

MARK + LIANE 16.09.17

Lianne and Mark's wedding at Trinity Buoy Wharf was an absolute delight to work on. I provided on the day co-ordination which was an absolute breeze as Lianne had been so incredibly well organised in the lead up. Not big fans of florals, this pair went for a concrete, copper and greenery aesthetic.

Following a gorgeous candelit ceremony in The Electrician's Shop, guests walked over to the Chainstore. The decor looked absolutely spectacular in the warehouse setting and a lot of fun was had by all! Pieminister provided fabulous pies and The Cheese Truck rocked up later to help guests soak up the booze.

Mark even made a concrete donut wall which was adorned with tasty treats courtesy of Eunella Cakes. Thank you both for including me in your day!

I’m a very organised person so when I got engaged I knew that I would be able to plan my wedding with very little help from anyone.  We loved the warehouse feel, an empty shell to have whatever we wanted, and the view of the Millennium Dome at Trinity Buoy Wharf.  However, the price to pay of having whatever we wanted was far more planning and organisation and it would be down to us (me) to source everything down to the cutlery! Soon after booking the venue I knew that we were going to need some ‘on the day’ help. As much as I knew I could plan everything on the lead up to our big day, I knew that I didn’t want any involvement during the day and wanted to enjoy my wedding day as a guest would.  Therefore I started my search for an ‘On the day planner’ and came across a recommendation for the Capston Second, which led to an initial meeting with Rachel.   I remember approaching the coffee shop in Angel with Mark and saying that all I require is someone that will understand the importance of little details and someone who is competent and confident in bringing all the suppliers together.  As soon as I met Rachel I knew she was the right planner for us, she understood that the importance of the detail and got excited when hearing all our plans.

Throughout the next year I worked hard with the planning of our wedding, but Rachel was always an email away to ask for any advice. I had a concerning moment when our furniture hire company and caterers refused to move our chairs from our ceremony room to reception room but Rachel was on hand to offer advice and to arrange additional labour to help with the chair move.

As our wedding approached, I met Rachel again to hand over my ‘bible’ of plans, layouts, timings and logistics, which she loved, understood and was happy to listen to all of my little details. I can be quite anal with my organisation!

On the day, Rachel was first to arrive at the venue and to meet Mark.  Mark said that she was incredibly helpful and on the ball with the set up and what he thought was going to be a stressful few hours for him became very enjoyable as Rachel took control.  As I arrived everything looked exactly as I planned and Rachel had listened to all of my requests. Rachel was the backbone  holding our wedding together on the day, to ensure all of the suppliers were keeping to their agreed contract.  As Mark and I enjoyed our wedding day, we weren’t disturbed by any issues or problems as Rachel had everything under control.  As the party finished at 1am and the guests left, Rachel was there to tidy up any remaining decorations and to ensure furniture was picked up by the hire companies as we had to have the whole venue cleared by 5am.  Rachel packed up our van with all remaining items and ensured our gifts were safe.

We couldn't have had the day we planned without Rachel, I would recommend anyone for her services.  She made our Wedding perfect for us.

LIBBY + MATT 22.07.16

The inspiration for this wonderful wedding was the Libby's emerald engagement ring, which was originally Matt’s grandmother's and the colour informed the aesthetic of the whole day. Originally considering a marquee wedding in the countryside, L&M decided to bring the outdoors in at Trinity Buoy Wharf instead. I was lucky enough to work with this pair from the start of the planning process and what a brilliant ride it was!

With the ceremony also taking place in the Chainstore, we enlisted the help of The Original Draping Co to divide up the room. Emma Alexander created a stunning foliage and floral arch and olive trees were brought in to adorn the venue. Foliage runners on bare wooden trestle tables were beautifully simple yet effective and the tables were all named after trees. Libby's INCREDIBLE dress was made for her by Wendy Benstead. The Illustrated Chef provided delicious barbecue boards for the tables and of course the Prosecco was also flowing!

You can see Libby and Matt's wedding featured on Rock n Roll Bride here!

Having already been engaged for some nine months without making any meaningful progress towards getting married, we employed The Capston Second to help us get things moving, and I can say without the slightest fear of exaggeration that without the tireless, patient and meticulous help of Rachel the eventual wedding would have been a dismal failure, if it happened at all.

She took a brief which was nebulous at best and chivvied, encouraged and at times downright forced it into what turned into the most spectacularly personal and beautiful day we could have imagined.

We were driven around the Hertfordshire countryside to look at suitable venues when we thought that’s what we wanted, and then around London venues without any complaint when we changed our minds; we were hand-held through a labyrinth of paperwork which would certainly have defeated us if left to our own devices; and we received expert advice and feedback on all of our ideas and queries, from the very basic to the minutely detailed.

It was utterly invaluable to us to have the project in the hands of someone so friendly and competent, and never more so than on the day itself, when the many moving parts needed deft handling. Rachel orchestrated the movements of the guests and contractors calmly and discreetly, leaving us with exactly what we wanted: the freedom to devote ourselves to the enjoyment of a wedding which went without a hitch.
